AJ Grant Group is one of the most successful, experienced and reliable accredited services provider for insurance claims and disaster relief in Australia. Currently working with Australia’s leading insurance companies, AJ Grant manages over 35,000 insurance claims annually across Australia with 200 full-time employees and utilising over 2,000 subcontractors to assist those affected restore their home and contents.

AJ Grant Group have developed a software solution called Buildpro that manages the lifecycle of an insurance claim. DB Gurus Pty Ltd has worked with the AJ Grant group to provide ongoing support and maintenance to Buildpro, in addition to further developing and enhancing this customised claim management solution to keep ahead of the dynamically changing insurance industry.

After several years of development using the Magic/UNIPaaS platform AJ Grant wanted to expand development capabilities and improve system functionality. Being dependant on the Magic development environment they were limited by licensing and reliant on Magic to provide new support and functionality to their platform. Firefly Migration completed a very successful Data Migration to convert the Build pro software from the Magic/UNIPaaS platform to the .NET platform. This allowed DB Gurus the opportunity to provide greater functionality, further enhancements and a more stable and reliable development platform by utilising .NET for the BuildPRO system.

Workshopping with AJ Grant identified an opportunity to solve onsite communication issues via the implementation of an iOS app designed for iPads. AJ Grant wanted to ensure their staff when offline, could still record information quickly and easily and combine it with relevant photos of the event, then automatically sync to their database when online again. Allowing assessment of claims in areas with little or no internet reception or where infrastructure had been damaged due to a catastrophe. The development of this application further streamlined the assessment process for AJ Grant by utilising a dedicated iOS app to access their hosted environment in an iPad friendly configuration, even if they were offline. This has drastically improved the efficiencies of the current system and created an opening for AJ Grant to provide additional value-add services during their assessment of damaged properties.

Frequently Asked Questions

We offer a number of different options to cover everything from one-off jobs through to long term support contracts. We can either work by the hour or by fixed price for project work. Prices vary by how big the job is and whether it is onsite or we can work from our office. please contact us for a quote.

For projects we normally give you a fixed price quote for producing a functional specification and a ballpark estimate for the whole project. Once we have done the analysis and design work we give you a completed functional specification with a fixed quote to complete the project. This allows you to see exactly what you will get and mitigate the risks of the project.

We have done work for clients all over the world but most of our clients are based in Australia, UK and NZ. We have representatives in Australasia, Europe, Southern Asia and North America.

We guarantee our work for one month after user acceptance. If there are any problems with our work during this period we will fix it for free. We cannot guarantee 3rd party products but will assist you in getting those problems resolved.

For clients on a support contract the minimum is 15 minutes. For new clients our minimum job is 4 hours.

We normally use a mix of agile and waterfall methodologies. We use agile method (including lots of prototyping and use cases) during the design phase and then document the result in a functional specification for programming and testing.

We normally respond within 2 hours. We offer guaranteed response rates for clients on a support contract.

Yes we do - up to $1m AUD and $10m AUD for Public and Products Limits of Indemnity. So far we have not ever had to call upon it because we endeavour to be professional in everything we do.

If you want a data driven website then we will happily provide a nice design to match in with your existing website or corporate colours. If you want a simple marketing website then we suggest you contact a dedicated website designer.

We prefer bank transfers (bank details are on our invoices) or alternatively you can pay via PayPal which accepts payments in AUD or USD. Please remember to include your invoice number on all payments so that we can allocate fund correctly. We do not accept American Express.
